"Well how are you? how have you been?" - Chance Meeting, Bryan Ferry

Is this the time for chance meetings or what?

Dirk and I finally got a new mattress for our bed and offered up the old one on Freecycle. The first reply was from someone who couldn't come until late in the weekend (and I wanted the mattress out of the living room asap), the second lady gave me the creeps so I offered it to the third person who came last night. What a chance meeting -- we had a great time laughing and talking while trying to strap a queen sized mattress on the top of her car without putting an eye out with the bungee cords that were flying all over the place. We had a lot in common -- even more when I noticed the Jerry sticker on her car and she saw the "SUGMAGS" vanity plate on my car. She emailed me this morning to ask if Dirk and I want go see a band at the Bluebird in March and that she was going to send me a CD of the band because she thought we would enjoy them.

When Dirk's mom and dad were in town we were at the mall in the store Sur La Table (which incidently I LOVE) when the girl working there came up told me she loved my hair. Got to chatting and I told here I was looking for a new stylist. She gave me the card of the woman she goes to and told me to call and tell her where I got the name and number since the stylist only works on referrals and takes on limited new clients. So, anyway I get an appointment with her earlier this week and when I walked in she looks at me and says "I love you hair, it totally makes you look like a Pixie." LOL. We had a nice long discussion on the differences between brownies, pixies and nymphs and are getting together on Saturday to swap some cds. (PS we colored my hair dark purple with bright violet highlights -- it's pretty vibrant and I love it)

So then last night I went to a local Pagan/Tarot Meetup. The last couple of times that I attended local pagan meetings, it's been so lame. But, I am glad I gave it another chance. I had such a good time and finally met some local Pagans who aren't on some "I'm a better Pagan than you" or the "You have to poor and destitute to truly embrace Paganism" trip. We met at Border's coffeeshop and only left when the store closed.

It's funny that this all happened this week, when last week I was complaining to my friend Mary back in Cincinnati that I so missed having our circle of friends who was always around to eat, laugh, drink and dance with. I didn't realize how isolated I had become lately.

Weird, eh?
